Vilo Protein Pars, a manufacturer of food and protein products under the Vilora brand, is among the companies that have adopted an export-oriented approach from the outset. From the initial design and construction of its production facility, the company has taken into consideration the requirements and standards necessary for entering and competing in international markets.

According to Farhad Eskandari, CEO of Vilo Protein Pars, the primary objective behind establishing the company in Salmanshahr was to create a production facility capable of entering international markets and manufacturing products in compliance with international standards. Accordingly, the factory’s infrastructure and production processes were designed and implemented from the outset in accordance with the requirements of target export markets.

Obtaining the IR Code and the Start of Vilora Exports

As part of its export development strategy for Vilora products, Vilo Protein Pars successfully obtained IR Code No. 6003 from the Iranian Veterinary Organization. Following the completion of the required procedures in the destination country, this code enabled Vilora products to enter the Russian market.

Obtaining the IR code facilitated the presence of Vilora products in markets such as Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. In addition, the company has exported its products to countries including Oman, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

The process of registering products in export markets requires not only obtaining the necessary permits and codes in Iran, but also completing evaluation and approval procedures in the destination countries. This constitutes an important part of the process of developing food exports.

EC Code: An Important Step Toward the European Union Market

One of Vilo Protein Pars’s significant achievements in expanding its export markets has been obtaining an EC code for the export of protein and meat products to the European Union.

According to the company, Vilo Protein Pars, under the Vilora brand, has obtained Code No. 1040 from the Iranian Veterinary Organization. This code has been recognized by the European Union and places the company among Iranian establishments meeting the applicable requirements for exporting products covered by this code to the EU market.

Obtaining this code is the result of compliance with a comprehensive set of requirements and controls throughout the production process and is not limited solely to the quality of the final product. From factory infrastructure and production conditions to raw-material sourcing, product traceability, and production-process specifications, a range of requirements must be implemented and properly documented.

Product Traceability: A Key Requirement for Export-Oriented Production

In the production of food products intended for export, traceability is an important factor in ensuring product quality and safety. Information such as production dates, the origin and source of raw materials, and production-process specifications must be recorded and managed in a manner that allows the product to be traced throughout the relevant stages of production and distribution.

At Vilora, these requirements are incorporated into the systems used to control and monitor the production process. The objective is to provide greater assurance regarding the quality, health, safety, and traceability of protein products.

Exports: A Core Pillar of Vilora’s Development

Vilo Protein Pars’s export-oriented approach has been one of the company’s key areas of focus since its establishment. The presence of Vilora products in various regional markets has provided valuable experience for the brand’s international market development, while obtaining export-related codes has been an important part of this process.

Despite its existing capabilities, the development of Iranian food exports faces challenges including restrictions resulting from sanctions, foreign-exchange transfer difficulties, requirements concerning the repatriation of export proceeds, and the complexities of international trade. These factors can affect export costs and the competitiveness of Iranian producers in global markets.

According to Farhad Eskandari, restrictions related to the transfer of foreign currency represent one of the major challenges facing Iranian exporters, and even trade with certain regional markets can involve difficulties in transferring export revenues.

Vilora’s Goal: Expanding International Markets

Vilo Protein Pars, under the Vilora brand, is pursuing the expansion of its export markets and international presence as one of its key strategic objectives. Obtaining the EC code and establishing the necessary infrastructure for access to the European Union market represent important milestones in this process.

Building on its production infrastructure, experience in export markets, and commitment to applicable quality and food-safety requirements, Vilora continues to expand its international market presence and seeks to develop the potential of Iranian protein products in regional and global markets.
